The view from our cabin’s porch

    So envious!

We had a rather pathetic inch of snow last night, first snow of the winter though and expecting heavier snow later today so fingers are crossed for a good 10″ over the next couple of days so I can go play in the Land Rover 🙂

The driveway is sporting between 48 to 60″ of very soft and fluffy snow at the moment. Let’s just say I didn’t attempt an entry with the Rover. Maybe once the 8500lbs winch is installed, in a week or so. I did start to consider mounting an actual plow on it for next winter, but it’s cheaper/faster to get the guy who does everybody else’s path in the area to do it for me as he drives by. :p

Snowmobiles are definitely on the agenda. We have countless miles of trails dedicated to those, a couple minutes from said cabin.

On another snowcat related note, my father-in-law’s neighbour owns and fully restored a couple of the original Bombardier snow machines (1 cab, 1 pickup). My in-law did all the oak paneling and roof framing on one of them. He also owns a restored Bombardier snow bus, painted the typical North-American-school-bus yellow, as that was its purpose for most of its active duties. All awesome machines.

Note: I’ve now fixed the wrong links in the parent comment. They’re now pointing to the proper hardware. 🙂

The snow bus is gorgeous! So full of character. Would love one of those. 🙂

BTW, we’ve now had 3″ of snow…… along way to go before we match you!
