Well, I did, and lo and behold, I was surprised with quite an awesome admin interface refresh.
Here are some screenshots of the new admin theme being worked on. A great start!
Love the smaller sidebar, much cleaner! That and the upcoming distraction free writing is really going to make writing on WP even more enjoyable than it already is. Only thing missing is an auto-hide on the user toolbox banner on the top of WP.com pages.

WP 3.2 is currently scheduled for release June 30th.
You can now have access to this new interface if you have a WordPress.com blog. We’ve gone live with it already. 🙂
I love the new look of the WordPress backend. Finally, we’re getting something with less clutter!
Eek! Where’s the clutter? I like the clutter – now where will I need to look for the stuff that used to be neatly below the edit post? 🙂 :-/

Oops. I should read your blog more often. I just broke a customized admin theme by upgrading to 3.2. <_< But seriously, good work guys!
