New Diabolical Skateboards Deck and T-Shirt

Check out what I received in the mail today, surprise courtesy of the always excellent Kevin Conboy.
Thanks Kev’, I’m stoked!Diabolical is a Denver (CO) based skateboard company. Haven’t gotten Kevin’s connection back story yet, beyond the shared location. š
The deck is their George Nagai pro model. You can see his handy work in the video edit embedded below.
Unsurprisingly yet always a source of Ā contentment on my end, Diabolical’s site is running on WordPress (but of course).

Beastie Boys: Hot Sauce Committee Part Two
[soundcloud url=”http://api.soundcloud.com/playlists/737966″ height=”292″]
You can stream the Beastie Boys‘ complete new album, Hot Sauce Committee Part Two, from their dedicated mini-site. You can also pre-order it from iTunes.
I’m able to embed the album here because like the Foo Fighters recently did with Wasting Light, the B-Boys opted to use SoundCloud‘s brilliant API and player for their streaming needs. This means the player can be embedded via shortcode on WordPress.com, a plugin on self-hosted WordPress, auto-embeds when posted or liked on Facebook, etc.

Nanaimo’s Hackathon
In an effort to encourage the creation of new applications, Nanaimo is hosting an Open Data Hackathon on April 30. The city will open up its public data and allow computer programmers free access to it. The goal of the event is to see what kind of creative projects developers can create with the data.
Via Nanaimo, B.C. hosts āhackathonā to help improve local apps.
